About Me

“If you can change the street, you can change the world.”

— Janette Sadik-Kahn

  • Urban Planner

I learned to plan by doing. Shortly after earning my BFA in Illustration, I worked for a small firm in Seattle called MAKERS. I had no experience but wanted to break into the industry. I created a newsletter, with some charts and graphs, pitching myself as a hard-working creative ready to learn. I worked there for 5 years and loved it. I got AICP certified too.

  • Designer

Design is in so many facets of planning, from spatial awareness to understanding how people interact with the built environment to designing communications so they can be informed and engaged. I love integrating my creativity into the realm of planning. There is room for joyful art and experiences in our world.

  • Transportation Nerd

While at FHI Studio for about 8 years, I worked on many great transportation projects, from statewide trails marketing, to construction communications, to demonstration projects. This led me to earn my Masters in Sustainable Transportation, and to work in the shared micromobility industry. I’m a champion for sustainable and equitable transportation solutions.

  • Communicator

I’m a grounded leader who uses the power of words and design to connect with others. I create website copy, blog posts, long-form documents, permit applications, and social media strategy. I write press releases, edit and manage content, and interface with the media. Fun fact: I love naming things.
